How to Delete Google Pay Transaction History

Google Pay, a widely used payment app in India, lets you easily make contactless payments. But it stores your transaction history. Luckily, you can delete this information if you prefer more privacy. Here’s how to do it on your phone or computer.

Deleting Transaction History on Phone

  • Open the Google Pay app and tap “Profile”.
  • Scroll down and tap “Settings” followed by “Privacy & Security”.
  • Tap “Data & Personalization” and then “Google Account”.
  • Go to “Payments & Subscriptions” > “Payment Info” and tap “Manage Experience”.
  • Under “Payments Transactions & Activity”, you’ll see your transaction history.
  • To delete a single transaction, tap the “X” next to it.
  • To delete multiple transactions at once, tap “Delete” above the list.
  • Choose the desired timeframe and the data will be erased.

Deleting Transaction History on Desktop

  • Go to https://www.google.com/account/about/ and click “Payments & Subscriptions”.
  • Scroll down to “Payment Info” and tap “Payments Transactions & Activity”.
  • You’ll see your transaction history. Delete individual transactions or use the “Delete” option to erase them in bulk (with a timeframe selection).

Exporting Your Google Pay Data

Before deleting your history, you might want to save it for future reference. Here’s how to export it:

  • Visit https://www.google.com/account/about/ on your phone or computer.
  • Under “Data & Privacy”, click “Download Your Data”.
  • Select “Google Pay” and tap “Next Step”.
  • Choose your preferred options for “Transfer to”, “Export Frequency”, “File type”, and “File size” before tapping “Create Export”.
  • This will export all your Google Pay data.

Permanently Deleting Your Google Pay Account

If you no longer need Google Pay, you can permanently delete your account. Here’s how:

  • Go to https://www.google.com/account/about/ on your phone or computer.
  • Go to “Data & Privacy” and scroll down to “Delete a Google Service”.
  • Find “Google Pay” and tap the trash can icon next to it.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions after the warning message to permanently delete your account.
