The future of Max Verstappen at Red Bull remains up in the air, with the Dutchman having been linked with a surprise move to Mercedes. Toto Wolff has made no secret of his desire to bring Verstappen to the Silver Arrows next year when Lewis Hamilton leaves to join Ferrari.
Verstappen has a long-term contract at Red Bull but is thought to have a break clause that would allow him to leave early if Helmut Marko departs. It remains to be seen if anything will come of Mercedes’ interest, but it has emerged they may not be the only team in the race for his signature. Aston Martin has also been credited with a desire to land Verstappen, with plans reportedly being drawn up to offer him a lucrative contract. Team owner Lawrence Stroll is reportedly convinced he can tempt Verstappen to join them by proposing a more attractive package than Mercedes.
