The much-anticipated addition of spell check to the popular Notepad application will soon be available from Microsoft. It is currently in testing and slated for release to all users by 2024.
Similar to Word or Edge, Notepad has the feature of highlighting misspelled words in red. By simply clicking on the right button of your mouse, you can have a glance at suggestions and rectify errors without delay. Additionally, Autocorrect will keep an eye out for any typing mistakes that may surface while you write.
Notepad’s spellcheck provides wide language assistance for users who speak multiple languages. It also allows you to effortlessly disregard words unique to a text or include them in the dictionary, preventing potential errors from occurring later on.
An official from Microsoft explains that while Spellcheck is automatically enabled for most files, it’s disabled for log files and coding-related file types. He goes on to state that users can customize these preferences at a global level or apply them specifically to certain file types. Additionally, settings may be adjusted temporarily for the document in use.
Notepad has seen numerous enhancements lately, including the incorporation of a spellcheck integration. Prior to this addition, Microsoft brought in tools such as character counting and autosave feature that users had been eagerly anticipating. The software also features tab functionality as well as Copilot AI integration, dark mode option and even virtual fidget spinner are part of recent Notepad upgrades!
